Krista Keltanen is a photographer and visual artist based in Helsinki, Finland.

Keltanen works with photography and oil painting. Nature is at the centre of her paintings, appearing through flowers, gardens, trees and landscapes.

Her paintings move between the recognizable and the abstract. Forms appear through dense layers of paint, while elsewhere they become fragmented or disappear almost completely. Small, delicate details can emerge from much heavier areas of paint. Rather than describing nature precisely, Keltanen is interested in how it can be felt through colour, surface and paint itself.

Keltanen has worked as a professional photographer for over two decades. Her photographic work, mainly focusing on interiors, people and lifestyle, has been published internationally in magazines and books.
